Optimist Labs was founded by Rochelle Webb in the face of a global marketing career that spans over two decades. She watched blue chip company after blue chip company making big product design decisions from the gut rather than the data because the lapse in time to receive insights was taking too long. She would then be tasked to spend staggering amounts of marketing dollars to push hero products she was unsure the consumer actually wanted.
The answers became clear after the product launches when she was able to benefit from the resource of social listening and noticing they had missed the mark. This resulted in products sitting idol and never being sold.
As time went on, her passion for creating a better environment legacy became a huge priority in her life and it was at the time that she knew she wanted to be a part of the solution. She took a step back and asked herself 'why' over and over again has no one been able to solve this and it was then that she realized that brands were not taking into account consumer behavior in the design stage of developing product. With her deep skills in marketing analytics and consumer insights, the answer became clear to her.
And Optimist Labs was born.
